PREMIERE: Noble Gas - Catch Me In A Twilight Zone (Official Video)

NOBLE GAS is Divine Serpent and Saturn Super Soul.

Their debut single CATCH ME IN A TWILIGHT ZONE is due out on 13th September 2022 on the SATURN SUPER SOUND imprint.

It is the first single from their forthcoming album ILLUMINATING MINDS FOR DESIGN.

CATCH ME IN A TWILIGHT ZONE and ILLUMINATING MINDS FOR DESIGN came into being due to SATURN being struck down with cancer and later renal failure. Time spent in hospital enabled him to focus on crafting tracks with heavily processed drums, neck snapping cymbals and floating textures for Divine to overlay his unique rhyme-style.

Although CATCH ME IN A TWILIGHT ZONE is their debut single, this duo have been around for a while. Divine Serpent has been in the UK hip hop game from the beginning as a BBoy participating in breakdance battles with his crew in Covent Garden to becoming a founding member of the Dynamic Governors, with the stage name MC Untouchable. His early releases included Untouchables Theme, Can’t Stop The Air Play, I Know My Task and Back Street Blues.

As the children of West Indians parents, Divine and Saturn are immensely proud of their heritage. Aside from music Divine and Saturn are both interested in self-empowerment, philosophy, knowledge & understanding, spirituality, history & ancestry, climate change & the environment, space, politricks, social justice, and equality & social mobility for all people everywhere.

Noble Gas sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
My passion for music started during the soul era,

( Fat Larry’s Band , Maze, Loose Ends, The Gap Band, Zapp, and Soul ll Soul )

Basically the Sony Walkman revolution.

I was a serious Soul-Boy back then proper Farah trousers, neat diamond jumpers and well polished Moccasin black shoes at a time when fashion really did define your taste in music.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
There are soo many British and American hip hop artists who have inspired me just to name a few:

BlakTwang, The Brotherhood, the Great late Tena Fly -  I’ve had the privilege of recording  with them all. They have all  influenced me lyrically. American artists such as Dizzy D, Public Enemy, KRS1, Red Man, The Wu Tang Clan, De La Soul and  A Tribe Called Quest to name a few. It would be a dream to work with any of the above.

I would also like to work with The London Posse, Skinny Man, the Ragga Twins, Archta.

Here is an exclusive Noble Gas may have something in the pipeline with Kool Keith, watch this space.

3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

The next project will certainly be an album from me that’s for sure. My next project will be an epic Noble Gas extravaganza something rooted on the old school values yet drop universal science. What will dominate the new project is my own concepts principles and narratives with that Saturn Super Soul flavour, and maybe drop a few Cyphers on the way.

4. How would you describe your sound?

I would describe our sound a little Fringe which is centered on freedom of thought, Goffik Soul which stems from old British hip hop and soul survivors.  Ragga-Tronics, is a blend of dancehall meets Britishness. In full a collective fusion of ideas past and present influenced by our raving experiences across the years.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

There have been many proud moments over the years, preforming at Astoria in the West End  when I was in the Blapps Posse back in the day. There were other artists show casing as well such as the Prodigy.

Hearing my first ever single ( Can’t Stop The Air-Play) on a pirate radio station for the very first time.

The new video ( Catch Me A Twilight Zone) Noble Gas.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

The only advice I can give is to be ORIGINAL, be True to your Self and always remember that words have power.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

Right now it’s Coast Contra, they are stirring things up and rejuvenating the concepts of  world hip hop, and I like the way they promote themselves on media -platforms, their freestyle performances are game changers.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

Right now I’m listening to Coast Contra’s new Album Apt.505 on rotation, every track is a master piece.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I like to spend quality time with my wife and kids and family members, study spiritual-science, gym time and watch  SCI-FI. The rest of the time I have left I like to spend it philosophising with Saturn Super Soul, family and friends.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

I can’t do without water, the magic of creativity and headphones.
