One of Manchester’s finest female lyricists OneDa shares her brand new EP ‘Pussy Power’ via Heavenly Recordings. The news is accompanied by the lead single ‘Rude Girl Flex’ and out now on all streaming platforms.

With collaborations spanning a raft of talent – including Fat Budha, Sam Binga, Particle, Dub Phizix and Anaïs – OneDa once again shows her versatile flow that compliments a range of genres whilst maintaining her inimitable sound. Recently named a NEXT WAVE artist by BBC1 and hotly tipped by The Face in their crop of MC's to look out for, the EP is a nod to the inner warrior and strength that comes from feminine energy, OneDa adds: “The true love and acceptance of who I am and the knowledge that this love and acceptance of me and all I embody is the source of my Pussy Power. Pussy Power is enjoying the journey bumps and all, seeing the perfection in the imperfect.”  The entire project is another triumphant display of OneDa’s mastercraft, a frenetic sonic journey through drum and bass and hip hop, with her own unique sound shining through.

On the lead single ‘Rude Girl Flex’, the artist steps up to produce it solely by herself for the very first time; it’s grimey, yet bright and compliments the sentiments of the lyrics. OneDa adds: “It’s a call to everyone, not just the females to step up and take hold of their power and start living life! Instead of living in your head, “Rude Girl better step up, try lifting your head up, Stressed out and your fed up, Nah, fuck that better get up”. Following the very successful release of ‘Love Reality’ with UK producer Fat Budha last month, the artist continues to soar with her unmatched lyrics and powerful beat-laden tracks that are guaranteed to get you moving. The 5-track EP is an exploration of this unstoppable artists mind, pouring her soul into a project that is completely her own.

OneDa is an unstoppable force constantly creating and evolving as she churns out non stop new music, producing lyrics effortlessly that result in unforgettable live shows as she builds an iconic status amongst the Manchester music scene. Born and raised in Hulme, Manchester, OneDa grew up in a musical family. Young OneDa was reading music from the age of six, playing trumpet in a brass band, and rapped and sang in her own gospel group ‘In Depth’, proving life in the music industry was destined for the artist. Over the last few years OneDa’s been running hip hop therapy sessions for east Manchester youth, working with Pupil Referral Units, Reform Radio and running the influential Herchester project for womxn, non-binary and transgender MCs in Manchester, Blackpool, Morecambe and Sheffield. “I wanna get bare number ones but my goal is to open a hip hop therapy school, from nursery age upwards.” With elements of Ruff Ryders, Eve, Burna Boy and Ms Dynamite all infused within OneDa’s music, the Manchester artist is proving herself to be a real innovator in the UK MC scene.

The artist is doing it like no one else right now, blending her old school and new school vibes consistently throughout all of her outputs and live shows. Talking about her music, she explains: “I’m coming for hits now. I’m with Heavenly – even the name is right.” The artist’s mentality sets her apart from the rest, destined for greatness and with a mindset that shows she won’t stop until she is at the top. OneDa’s constant evolution includes some exceptional accolades: she joined Angélique Kadjo on stage at MIF festival alongside Layfullstop and Ellen Beth Abdi; supported KRS1 at Blues Kitchen Manchester; headlined Manchester Pride with a brand new live show featuring some heavy hitters from the scene; recently supported label mate Baxter Dury on his Autumn tour; with support on the Kneecap tour forthcoming. Sky's the limit for this unstoppable force.
