SHARP - MY FRIENDS (Single)

15th February marks the return of releasing music for SHARP, 21-year-old Rapper/Singer based in Liverpool.

‘MY FRIENDS’ is the first release from SHARP in this vein of Lofi-House/Alternative Rap.

Thematically, the track his heavily focused on friendship. On top of sweet melodies and infectious drums, SHARP begins with an ear-worm hook, detailing relatable thoughts about missing your friends. The theme is continued through a verse that highlights SHARP’s lyrical capabilities, whilst maintaining the song’s upbeat spirit. The short-but-sweet track rounds off with another chorus, and an outro, allowing listeners to enjoy musical grooves courtesy of producer Cloubee.

Speaking on the track SHARP explained, “MY FRIENDS is really just about friendship. Looking back on those times with your friends that make you happy and wishing they could happen all over again. I have amazing and supportive friends and this song is a showing of my appreciation for them. It’s easy to get caught up in whatever you’ve got going on and forget how important the people around you are”.

The completion of this track was something of a labour of love. The first draft of the chorus originated a number of years ago. After being long-forgotten, SHARP recognised the track had merit. The track was then recorded and re-recorded, written and re-written, until it’s final form. In between a busy schedule studying at university, SHARP is finally releasing the highly anticipated track. Followers of SHARP on Instagram and Tik Tok have been heavily requesting the song since hearing initial snippets. The wait is finally over.

SHARP’s previous releases ‘FEELINGS’ and ‘SUMMER LOVE / RIDICULOUS FREESTYLE’ received support from the likes of Oculate UK, Repeat Mag, Wordplay Magazine, as well as UK rap royalty Kojey Radical.
