Hailing from Ottawa Ontario, DORESSA is an up and coming Canadian artist. Growing up in a musical household, DORESSA realised she wanted to be on the stage after seeing her father attend countless rehearsals, studio sessions and live performances. She quickly learnt piano at the age of 11 and guitar by the age of 18 alongside exploring her vocal capabilities. She also sang an original song of hers on the Bell Centre stage at the Francofolies de Montreal with the TV show called JAM.

Her unique sound pays homage to a whole host of different genres and musical inspirations. The likes of house, neo-soul and R&B can all be heard in her music, and artists such as Anita Baker, George Benson, Teena Marie, to Lauryn Hill, India Arie and Jazmine Sullivan can be seen to have influenced her music. With an E.P release looming, a growing fanbase and fantastic music industry support from the likes of COMPLEX, we can’t wait to see where she’ll take this.
