1. Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind "BST"?

The inspiration behind BST is the message that in life no matter what you want to achieve, you must sweat to accomplish your goals. No matter what you do, you must shed blood sweat and tears in the process.

2. What led you to create this song, and what message were you hoping to convey to your listeners?

Creating the song was my way of taking my mind off things, with the hope of giving people the energy to motivate themselves and others.

3. Your rhymes on "BST" are packed with clever wordplay and references. How do you approach the process of writing your lyrics, and what are some of the themes or topics that you tend to explore in your music?

I don't have any particular process, I just live in the moment when recording in the studio, taking whatever comes to be and putting a spin on it. When I’m creating I liaise a lot with my manager and Matty who both give helpful pointers.

4. The production on "BST" is impressive. How involved were you in the production process, and what was your collaboration with your producers like?

I am very close with my engineer @composebeats and I am always involved in the process of creating the vision for my music. Big up @composebeats every time. BST was shot by SalamSalamMusic and directed by myself.

5. "BST" has a very energetic and upbeat vibe to it. How do you think your music fits into the current landscape of UK rap?

I’m new to the music scene, right now I’m in the process of gaining feedback but so far it has all been so supportive. It feels amazing to gain recognition from people high up in the music industry such as Ellie Prohan at KISS FM.

6. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music?

I hope that sharing my story with others will help them gain confidence and motivate them.

7. You've mentioned in previous interviews that you draw inspiration from a wide range of musical genres and artists. Who are some of your biggest influences, and how have they shaped your approach to making music?

I would say artists like Pop Smoke (in fact we have the same birthday!) have helped shape the artist I’m becoming. I also like Skrapz, Snapp capone, Headie one, Morefire crew and the So Solid Crew.

8. What are your plans for the future, both in terms of new music and live performances?

I make music to enjoy myself, I want to establish myself as an artist and enjoy the whole process of making music. I am also hoping to do more live shows and festivals this year.

9. Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you're particularly excited about?

I’m currently working on an EP + album, sit tight.

10. Your stage name, BOSSSSJOHNSON, is really unique and memorable. Can you tell us a bit about how you came up with it, and what it represents to you as an artist?

Bossssjohnson is more than just my artist name. The nickname came before I was involved with music and stuck to me like glue. I want to inspire to be my own Boss and establish myself with the name Bossssjohnson.
