Kwaku Asante - Strawberry Skies (Official Video)

Rising singer-songwriter Kwaku Asante is having a huge moment in the build-up to the ‘Blue Solstice Volume 2’ project and quickly follows his recent COLORS performance with the release of the official video for ‘Strawberry Skies’.

Directed by Cosmo Rush, the 'Strawberry Skies’ visual pays homage to classic Soul and Funk videos from the 70s, a golden era gone by. With an introduction from an immaculately dressed Karim Bitar (The Beat London), Kwaku takes centre stage as the frontman delivering a charismatic performance akin to The Temptations, The Supremes and Four Tops. This is Kwaku's third single taken from his highly anticipated 9-track project ‘Blue Solstice Volume 2’ following ‘Until The Morning’ and ‘Free Spirit’, which have both created a growing appetite for more feel-good music from the singer. This single is the product of impeccably classy musicianship and a singer grappling with the intricacies of lust, love, and dating.

Kwaku successfully fuses R&B, Pop and Funk, finding himself in his most freeing pocket of musicianship.

Kwaku has fond memories of his younger years, with his love for music igniting both at church and home in a house filled with Gospel and Jazz. Kwaku’s grandfather, A.K Badu, was an executive producer in Ghana - who founded the first record company there in 1954, Ambassador Records Manufacturing - and worked alongside musical royalty Quincy Jones and Fela Kuti. He was influential in Kwaku’s journey, encouraging him to play the piano and sing in the church choir from a young age. This musical lineage is something Kwaku has come to appreciate more as he gets older, and it has become a driving force for him to reach the highest of heights.
