Frozemode - Vermin (Official Video)

Less than 12 months into their incarnation, Frozemode, have already made an indelible imprint in the current soundscape. Closing the year off, the trio further cement why it’s not just their sound that will carry them far, as they release their co-directed music video for single “Vermin”.

The video lands on the cusp of their very first Reading & Leeds appearance, which saw the BBC Introducing stage experience mosh-pits and raucous ripples, like it had never seen before. NME can certainly feel justified in their recommendation of Frozemode being a must-see act of this year’s Festival.

Channelling this energy into the “Vermin” music video, the visual is steeped in unruly vehemence and kinetic flare. Taking an almost zombie apocalyptic stance, the video lives up to its title as the three band members assume position in London’s gritty underworld, bringing their distinctive performative style to the forefront. Co-producer by band member, I.V GATLIN, it is clear Frozemode are an all-encompassing creative entity, with unstoppable potential.

Speaking more on this, I.V GATLIN explains; “Making this music video was a very exciting process. It was still pretty DIY in most ways, but we managed to get our hands on some great equipment and a great DOP which really helped with the creative freedom — we could bring to life some more stylised and memorable imagery. The video is a bit of a fever dream representation of how the song feels to us. Abstractly representing the darkness and the grandeur of the track, whilst also representing how all three members of the group merge together but have our own distinct qualities.”

Radiating a formidable vigour, whilst effortlessly preserving the distinctive, alternative style that characterises the group's musical persona, "Vermin",  not only highlights their skillfulness in the rap genre but also resonates with their unique sonic fabric, as they creep further into the alternative realm.

Gaining momentum as one of the most impressive live performers, Frozemode entered the year with next to no live feats to their name. They will end the year having supported Jelani Blackman, to later being invited to join his “Live & Direct'' night at Fabric, alongside names such as Tiggs Da Author, Sam Gellaitry, Lauren Faith, Mushkilla, they would have taken to stages at 2000trees and Reading & Leeds Festivals, and embarked on a UK-wide tour with US favourites Joey Valance and Braae.
