STORRY - fairytales (Single)

“fairytales” is the new single from artist and writer STORRY, co-produced with Grammy-award nominated LosHendrix (SZA, Brent Faiyaz). Steeped in melancholic nostalgia, the track is based on STORRY’s own experiences of heartbreak; of loving hard, but losing harder, “I’m no beauty going to sleep and hoping to wake up to some knight in shining armour. That stuff sold tol ittle girls and boys doesn’t make any sense. So, I wrote about it.”

The track is taken from STORRY’s forthcoming album ‘Chapter 2: Run’, alongside previous single “Who Loves You Now?”. STORRY delivered a tantalizing performance to celebrate the release of the single as part of the Global: Soul Honour Roll at the legendary KOKO, Camden showcasing her innovative take on R&B. In 2024 STORRY will be collaborating with Emmanuel Jal on a Choose Love feature track. STORRY has also been named as the newest addition to the iluvlive, Stellar Songs and Tim & Danny Music Artist Development Programme.

As a multi-dimensional artist, STORRY draws influences from Hip Hop to Opera and Reggae to musical theatre. She balances grit and poise in her lyrics, utilising her enigmatic storytelling abilities to create multi-faceted characters, and deeply complex worlds; striving to inspire through music that is evocative and honest.

STORRY’s self-produced debut concept album ‘Chapter 3: The Come Up’ was self-released and nominated for a 2021 Juno Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album alongside Celine Dion and Alanis Morrissette. Though rooted in R&B and Soul, STORRY’s lyrical and vocal talents have been recognised across corners of the industry. In 2022, STORRY’s operatic vocals were featured on the title track of Stormzy’s number one album ‘This Is What I Mean’.

STORRY’s forward-thinking music translates across many musical languages, emphasising her versatility and power to communicate feeling. Both a visual artist and a musician, STORRY’s live performances are visceral experiences that must be experienced to be believed. She has toured across Canada and parts of the USA and UK, most notably headlining stages of Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Pride Toronto and JUNOFest.
