NE-O - Miley Cyrus (Official Video)

Newcastle-based artist NE-O builds on his anticipation with latest release, “Miley Cyrus”, following the announcement of his Reading and Leeds 2024 slot.

Having taken inspiration from the popularity of Miley Cryus’ single “Flowers”, the song unashamedly sees NE-O giving himself praise for his own achievements and accolades. Following his headline slot at Newcastle’s iconic Glasshouse venue which saw an all-rap line-up in the usually classical trained venue, the heat surrounding his name has been building rapidly.

Directed by Hughmatic & Yung Villain, the visual offering celebrates the essence of the North East rap scene; community and collaboration. Featuring fellow geordie rappers, The97Renn and Sengi, as well as North East based clothing brands Hide Out Studios and BAF4L, it’s a true celebration of all things Newcastle.

With a string of releases set to be released in the coming months and major nationwide festival bookings, 2024 is shaping up to be NE-O’s breakout year.

Newcastle-based artist NE-O is a multi-faceted talent. From supporting grime legends to headlining shows at the North East's iconic Glasshouse ICM and sharing stages with bass heavyweights, his journey reflects a diverse catalogue. However, it's his humble grime roots that remains a consistent thread throughout his career.

While his sound has evolved to embrace elements of UK Rap, his live performances still proudly echo his grime origins, with a Rhythm n Gash freestyle never going amiss.

After a brief hiatus in 2023, NE-O is back stronger than ever, with a backing from the industry like never before. Just a few months into 2024, he has already performed his biggest show to date, secured bookings at iconic venues and has even more projects on the horizon.

Starting his musical career in 2017 as a former member of NE Dons, the rapper has since gone on to release 4 EP's. Along the way, he has received accolades such as Track Of The Week from BBC Introducing, a MOBO grant, a Maida Vale cypher feature, and airplay on BBC 1Xtra and BBC Radio 1; It's as if every step NE-O's taken so far has been leading up to 2024, poised to be the pinnacle of his career thus far.
