Bawo - Hope You’re Listening (A COLORS SHOW Video)

Following his recent single ‘Magnifique’ ft. Jordy, West London raconteur Bawo premieres new song ‘Hope You’re Listening’ in an illuminating A COLORS SHOW performance that is out now. Alongside this, he announces forthcoming project It Means Hope Where I’m From, due out on October 25th on Bawo’s Say Nothing Records label.

‘Hope You’re Listening’ reveals a spirituality to Bawo’s artistry, hinted at in previous works but never presented as explicitly as here. “Father, hope you’re listening…” he pleads on the track’s brief but arresting hook. In his verses, Bawo ruminates on the various challenges of modern life, attempting to maintain balance along the turbulent journey towards financial, physical and spiritual security. In his performance for COLORS, Bawo’s intention is palpable, each word delivered with a pristine clarity that’s emblematic of the special talent he is.

Announcing his new project It Means Hope Where I’m From (out October 25th), Bawo has begun teasing the underlying concept for the body of work via self directed video trailers, released on social media. On It Means Hope Where I’m From, Bawo hopes to encourage listeners to find the hero in themselves, rather than projecting these expectations onto others. This idea is explored in the visual assets accompanying the project, in which we see Bawo transform from mild-mannered office worker to a superhero donning the ‘Say Nothing’ logo on his chest. The rollout for the project will be highly engaging for fans, with merch launches, in-person community based activations and more, all scheduled to accompany the release.
