Teether & Kuya Neil - ZOO (Official Video)
London/Melbourne rap duo Teether & Kuya Neil today announce their highly-awaited debut album, YEARN IV, due out on May 2nd via Chapter Music. With this news comes their defiant new single and video, "ZOO", which is out now.
Marking the duo’s first offering since 2023 mixtape STRESSOR, YEARN IV captures the brooding and vivid world of two musical outsiders, finding their voice amid a sea of clashing cultural experiences and sonic histories. Recorded in Melbourne and completed in London (where Teether is now based), the project modulates hyper-local influences into a distinctive global rap sound, with echoes of the early internet the pair were raised on. The album features appearances from Nerdie of Sydney K-Rap rising stars 1300, Wergaia/Wemba Wemba vocalist Alice Skye and Naarm producer Stoneset.
As the first preview of the album, lead single "ZOO" plays with the silent throes of alienation and displacement within the broader cultural landscape, depicting a stark parallel with prey vs. predator power dynamics over a paranoid trap instrumental. Speaking on the song, they share, “It’s wild that each day, in whatever city you find yourself, there’s millions of people waking up and doing whatever they deem most important, all at once. It’s going to be chaos. We're animals running wild, acting like it all makes sense. ZOO is a song we made one day where this idea felt extra strange.”
