Hackney singer-songwriter Mychelle has officially announced her highly anticipated album “Good Day”, set for release on April 30 via FAMM (Maverick Sabre/Jorja Smith).
As a final preview before the album drops, she unveils her latest single, “Seasons”, a deeply personal track co-written with her best friend and produced by John Trainum. Born from a moment of introspection, “Seasons” took shape while Mychelle was on her way to play basketball, a recurring theme throughout the album, where inspiration strikes in transit. Feeling out of sorts that day, she began humming a melody, which later became the song's foundation. Taking the rough idea into the studio, she built it from the ground up but struggled with the final verse. It wasn’t until her last recording session, while piecing everything together, that the missing lyrics suddenly came to her, bringing “Seasons” to life. Mychelle is gearing up for an exciting summer with “Good Day” just weeks away. She’ll join Jorja Smith on her UK tour and grace the stages of Across The Tracks and Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, promising an unforgettable season of live performances.
Her journey has earned her support from The Metro, Evening Standard, Dork, and Clash, alongside airplay from DJ Target, Adele Roberts and Jamz Supernova. With a growing discography, including standout EPs like Closure (2021), Someone Who Knows (2022), It’s Not You, It’s Me (2023), and the stripped-back Me & Gaz (2024), Mychelle continues to carve out her space in the industry. Her collaboration with ENNY on “Forbidden Fruit” (from Someone Who Knows) remains a fan favourite with close to 2.5 million plays, proving that her storytelling and soulful delivery resonate deeply. Mychelle has graced stages at the Montreux Jazz Festival (CHE), George Ezra and Friends, Board-masters, Deershed, Into the Great Wild (NL) and Michael Kiwanuka tour support. With a busy start to the year, including the recent releases of "Sweet Nothings" and “You Don’t Care About Me”, Mychelle is gearing up for an exciting summer. Beyond music, she embraces movement and adventure, bringing an ever-enthusiastic energy to everything she does.
“Good Day” marks a bold new chapter for Mychelle, showcasing her growth as an artist and her unwavering trust in herself and her music. It's a testament to her evolution, both creatively and personally, as she fully embraces her artistry like never before.
