Receiving plaudits across the breadth of the media for his debut 7-track EP Ifarada - with support from the likes of Pitchfork, The Face, Highsnobiety, Crack Magazine, Fader, The Guardian and Boiler Room to name a few - the extraordinary talent is back to reach more stratospheric heights with brand new music alongside his creative partner and producer Santiago Morales. After a year of self-reflection, ‘ọ’ is an intimate look at the struggles the artist has experienced in life, whilst celebrating and appreciating the fuel it gave him to become the person he is today. With lyrics ‘hip hip hooray, no more living door to door, out of bags… imma break these chains, let me spirit out’ he is finally freeing himself of self-doubt and embarking on a journey of growth without any self-inflicted pressures. The track is another feat of Loshh’s songwriting prowess with unmatched vocals paired with Santiago’s smooth Latin-tinged production.
On the Loshh and Ivor Alice co-directed video, the narrative is the juxtaposition of the artist's personal story of always looking sharp despite being in the throes of homelessness and having to rely on friends for a place to crash. “What glitters ain’t gold but in my case I was using the glitter to mask the fact I was sofa surfing and put on this front to the world,” he states.
